On jumping, WINBO was checked when crowded for room between GOOD PARTNER and O’REILLY RALLY which shifted in. From the outside barrier, AMBITIOUS OWNER was taken across behind runners. In the early and middle stages, WINBO proved very difficult to settle and on a number of occasions got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of MAGIC SWEEP. S K Sit (BE MY SONG) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1100 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of O’REILLY RALLY, causing that horse to be carried in across the rightful running of ALL TIME HIGH which as a result was checked. In the circumstances of this case and having listened to the submissions put by S K Sit in mitigation, the Stewards believed the appropriate penalty was for S K Sit’s licence to ride in races be suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday 31 January 2008 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday 20 January 2008. When ALL TIME HIGH checked, inconvenience was caused to MAGIC TOUCH, HAPPY GO LUCKY, GOAL KEEPER, CAGA BOY and TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND which were following. After this incident, HAPPY GO LUCKY travelled wide and without cover. After the 400 Metres, KING PRAWN SUPREME was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between O’REILLY RALLY and ALL TIME HIGH. At the 300 Metres, GOAL KEEPER was steadied away from the heels of CAGA BOY. After the 200 Metres, WINBO was steadied when crowded for room between MAGIC SWEEP and GOOD PARTNER which shifted in momentarily. TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of WINBO. Over about the last 50 Metres, MAGIC SWEEP had difficulty obtaining clear running. In the Straight, ALL TIME HIGH hung in. TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND, CAGA BOY, GOAL KEEPER and WINBO were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND, CAGA BOY, GOAL KEEPER and WINBO after the race did not show any significant findings. O’REILLY RALLY and BE MY SONG were sent for sampling.
