BEAUTIFUL DREAMER, which was fractious in the barriers, was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. IRISH JIG, which was also fractious in the barriers, will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial before being allowed to race again. GOOD TO GO and VENI VEDI VICI were slow to begin. ELEGANT WIN and KINDACROSS began awkwardly. Approaching the 600 Metres, ELEGANT WIN was steadied away from the heels of CANNONISE. Near the 500 Metres, CANNONISE was hampered and lost ground when crowded for room between ENTHUSED and ALWAYS GIGGLE which shifted out. In this incident, CANNONISE bumped ENTHUSED which also became unbalanced. For some distance approaching the 300 Metres, ENTHUSED had difficulty obtaining clear running. Approaching the 300 Metres, ELEGANT WIN was checked when disappointed for running between BULB KING and VENI VEDI VICI. ELEGANT WIN was then held up for a run for the remainder of the race and as a consequence was not tested. Passing the 300 Metres, GOOD TO GO was steadied and shifted to the outside of the heels of KINDACROSS which shifted in slightly. Over the concluding stages, VENI VEDI VICI raced tight outside BULB KING. When questioned, C K Tong (BEAUTIFUL DREAMER) said after his mount was fractious in the barriers, the horse received some crowding shortly after the start between GOOD TO GO and KINDACROSS. He said after this BEAUTIFUL DREAMER did not stride out and although the horse did not feel sore, it appeared to him as though BEAUTIFUL DREAMER was not comfortable in its action. BEAUTIFUL DREAMER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTIFUL DREAMER after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of BEAUTIFUL DREAMER was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTIFUL DREAMER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of DIAMOND BRILLIANCE, G Mossé said his mount travelled well in the early and middle stages, however, when asked for an effort passing the 400 Metres DIAMOND BRILLIANCE did not respond to his riding and was most disappointing in its failure to finish its race off. DIAMOND BRILLIANCE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DIAMOND BRILLIANCE after the race did not show any significant findings. ALWAYS GIGGLE and ENTHUSED were sent for sampling.
