MUTUAL FRIENDSHIP, which was fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly. TRULLI began awkwardly and lost ground. When the gates opened, FEVER PITCH bounded in the air and as a consequence lost ground. MISSION began awkwardly and was then bumped by BOOMING CITY which shifted out after being bumped by FLY HIGH. With the intention of being ridden forward from the outside barrier, after beginning awkwardly and stumbling, CRAIG’S DRAGON was ridden along. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, KING PRAWN SUPREME was steadied away from the heels of CRAIG’S DRAGON which shifted in when barely clear. For some distance after the 200 Metres, MUTUAL FRIENDSHIP was held up and unable to obtain clear running. After the 200 Metres, TRULLI was steadied when unable to obtain clear running. Prior to the winning post, LUCKY FRUIT was checked when crowded for room between CRAIG’S DRAGON which shifted out and TOY STORY which was crowded for room and carried in by HONEST TREASURE which initially shifted in away from ISLAND SUPER and then was carried in further by that horse. In the circumstances, no action was taken. For the major part of the race, HONEST TREASURE travelled wide and without cover. Following the race, O Doleuze (TRULLI) reported he was concerned over the action of his horse in the concluding stages. TRULLI and KILDARE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TRULLI and KILDARE after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, TRULLI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CRAIG’S DRAGON, ISLAND SUPER and STAR OF FAME were sent for sampling.
