Just prior to the start being effected, ALL SILENT became fractious and lunged forward out the front gates. JOY AND FUN was slow to begin. Near the 1150 Metres, APACHE CAT was steadied away from the heels of BORDERLESCOTT when taken in slightly by WAR ARTIST (O Peslier). O Peslier was advised to exercise care. Passing the 900 Metres, GREEN BIRDIE and SCENIC BLAST bumped. Approaching and passing the 300 Metres, GREEN BIRDIE was brushed on a number of occasions by JOY AND FUN (B Doyle) which shifted out to improve its position. B Doyle was advised that whilst the Stewards appreciate competitive riding, he must exercise due care when shifting ground to obtain runs in similar circumstances. At the 200 Metres, ALL SILENT was steadied and shifted in away from the heels of LAUREL GUERREIRO to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, WAR ARTIST travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of SCENIC BLAST after the race revealed the horse had bled from both nostrils. A veterinary inspection of APACHE CAT after the race revealed that the horse was lame in the left front leg and had lost its left hind plate. APACHE CAT’s home authority will be advised that prior to racing again, the horse is required to undertake a veterinary examination. SACRED KINGDOM and ONE WORLD were sent for sampling.
