Steward Report Predict Pace Map
CAT STORM was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (substantial amount of mucopus on scoping after track work). Before being allowed to race again, CAT STORM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CLEMENT ELITE, which proved difficult to load, will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again. ROMA THUNDER began awkwardly. In the early stages, GOOD PARTNER proved difficult to settle and passing the 1000 Metres was checked away from the heels of SUPREME WIN. Near the 700 Metres, TOP NEWS got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied away from the heels of BIG WINNER AGAIN. TOP NEWS was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight. ROMA THUNDER got its head on the side and hung out in the Straight. Throughout the race, BOLERO travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, B Prebble (SUPREME WIN) stated that once loaded in the barriers the horse became very fractious and when the start was effected lifted its front feet off the ground and was slow to begin. He said it had been intended for the horse to be ridden in a forward position, however, due to the manner in which SUPREME WIN began, the horse was obliged to be ridden towards the rear of the field. He said when ridden in this manner, SUPREME WIN travelled satisfactorily during the race, however, when placed under pressure in the Straight was disappointing in its failure to respond to his riding. Before being allowed to race again, SUPREME WIN will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. A veterinary inspection of SUPREME WIN and GOOD PARTNER after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPREME WIN, ELEGANCE DESIRE and TAKEANOTHERCHANCE were sent for sampling.
