From a wide barrier, SUNNY FAY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 700 Metres, GIANTS SERAPIS was taken wider by SUNNY FAY which shifted to the outside of STORM UNICORN. After this, GIANTS SERAPIS got its head on the side and hung out. In the Straight, KING MOSSMAN got its head on the side and lay out. After the race, D Beadman reported that approaching the 200 Metres his right wrist became entangled in the loop of his rein which impeded his riding out of SUNNY FAY. This was confirmed on the official video. A veterinary inspection of TURF MAGIC after the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being permitted to race again, TURF MAGIC will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. KING MOSSMAN and TOUCH GO were sent for sampling.
