Steward Report Predict Pace Map
SILVER GRECIAN blundered at the start. From a wide barrier, CAT STORM was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 1000 Metres, ENHANCED was awkwardly placed close to the heels of AFFLUENCE OF RAIN. Approaching the 200 Metres, FAMILISTS was disappointed for running between TAILWIND and MANDARIN which shifted out. Throughout the race, ST FEVRE travelled wide and without cover. Z Purton reported that he placed ENHANCED under pressure in the early part of the Straight and near the 300 Metres it became unbalanced in its action. He said as he was aware that ENHANCED had previously bled and having in mind the manner in which the horse was travelling, he eased the horse down over the final 300 Metres. A veterinary inspection of ENHANCED after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, ENHANCED will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of KING OF REASON, W M Lai stated that his horse became stirred up behind the barriers and when placed in the barriers was fractious and reared on a number of occasions. He said as the start was effected, KING OF REASON, which was being assisted by a barrier attendant, reared and lost a considerable amount of ground. He said he rode KING OF REASON along in the early stages to make up lost ground and was able to obtain a midfield position after the 1200 Metres. He said however that at the 1100 Metres KING OF REASON commenced to race fiercely and got its head up repeatedly until after the 900 Metres. He added the manner in which KING OF REASON raced today together with the horse becoming very stirred up before the race were the principal reasons for its disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection of KING OF REASON after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of KING OF REASON, a last start winner, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KING OF REASON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SILVER GRECIAN and CAT STORM after the race did not show any significant findings. FULFIL A WISH and TAILWIND were sent for sampling. <27/6/2011 Additional Veterinary Report>CAT STORM, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. CAT STORM was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer A S Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, CAT STORM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
