Steward Report Predict Pace Map
MING HOI GLORY began awkwardly. GOLDEN LEGEND was slow to begin and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of NAMJONG BLOSSOMS. B Prebble reported that after this GOLDEN LEGEND raced greenly and was reluctant to stretch out. A veterinary inspection of GOLDEN LEGEND after the race revealed that the horse was lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN LEGEND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Shortly after the start, JADE CHRISTY was steadied away from the heels of REGENCY CHAMPION (M Chadwick) which got its head on the side and shifted in. M Chadwick was severely reprimanded and advised that whilst it was apparent that REGENCY CHAMPION had hung in throughout the race, nonetheless he must be more attentive to his mounts shifting ground than he was on this occasion. Passing the 500 Metres, REGENCY CHAMPION got its head on the side and hung in. Passing the 400 Metres, BLESS US ALL was steadied when crowded for room between KING OF THE DAY which shifted out slightly and JADE CHRISTY which was taken in by CHAMPION RANGER which at this time got its head on the side and hung in when close to the heels of REGENCY CHAMPION. Near the 50 Metres, REGENCY CHAMPION, which continued to have its head on the side and lay in, was struck across the nose by the whip of C K Tong (DANE PATROL) on two occasions. Over the concluding stages, CHAMPION RANGER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of JADE CHRISTY and because of this was not fully tested. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of KING OF THE DAY, W Pike stated that his mount travelled only fairly in the run and whilst the horse was slightly further back than had been intended in the early stages, it was able to improve its position approaching the 600 Metres. He said however that after the 500 Metres KING OF THE DAY came off the bridle and, despite being momentarily crowded for room after the 400 Metres, was disappointing in the manner in which it weakened out of the race over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of KING OF THE DAY after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of BLESS US ALL after the race showed that the horse had sustained a cut to the outside of the right front cannon. JADE CHRISTY, DANE PATROL and REGENCY CHAMPION were sent for sampling. <3/7/2012 Additional Veterinary Report>The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that MASTER KEY was lame in all four legs on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, MASTER KEY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
