When being shifted across from the outside barrier behind runners, LEGEND EXPRESS threw its head up on a number of occasions and proved difficult to manage for a short distance. Also from wide barriers, GOLDEN TREASURE, OPTIMIZATION STAR and RIGHT TIMING were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. When being steadied passing the winning post on the first occasion to obtain a position behind OYSTER, EPEE DE HUA got its head up on a number of occasions. Also passing the winning post on the first occasion, LEGEND EXPRESS shifted in and brushed the running rail. The performance of RIGHT TIMING, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, RIGHT TIMING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned, Y T Cheng stated that after reaching the lead on FORTUNE TOGETHER without having to make use of his horse, he attempted to steady it, however, FORTUNE TOGETHER commenced to over-race and proved very difficult to settle. He said passing the 1300 Metres he took another hold of FORTUNE TOGETHER in an attempt to restrain the horse, however, FORTUNE TOGETHER would not relax and consequently established a margin over the remainder of the field despite his best efforts to steady the horse. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that LEGEND EXPRESS had lost its left front plate. A veterinary inspection of CHATER D’CAT and RIGHT TIMING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. INVICTUS and OYSTER were sent for sampling. <21/3/2013 Additional Veterinary Report>RIGHT TIMING, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. RIGHT TIMING was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Size this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. As previously advised, RIGHT TIMING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
