HAPPY ERA was slow to begin. DESIGNS ON ROME shifted out at the start and bumped RAINBOW CHIC. After being left racing wide and without cover in the early stages, ENDOWING was ridden along to assume the lead after the 1000 Metres. Approaching the 1400 Metres, RAINBOW CHIC got its head up when momentarily crowded for room between DESIGNS ON ROME and LET ME HANDLE IT (Z Purton) which shifted in. Z Purton was advised to exercise care. Passing the 1000 Metres, RAINBOW CHIC again got its head up on a number of occasions and shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LET ME HANDLE IT. Prior to the 700 Metres, RAINBOW CHIC got its head on the side and lay out and then passing the 700 Metres was brushed and taken wider by DESIGNS ON ROME which shifted out. After the 600 Metres, RAINBOW CHIC and DESIGNS ON ROME were both taken wider by LET ME HANDLE IT which shifted to the outside of PENGLAI XIANZI to improve. HAPPY ERA was momentarily held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that RAINBOW CHIC and REAL GENEROUS had both lost its right front plate. A veterinary inspection of BULLISH CHAMPION and ENDOWING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. DESIGNS ON ROME and RAINBOW CHIC were sent for sampling. <8/7/2013 Additional Veterinary Report>The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that OUTDOOR PEGASUS was lame and swollen in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, OUTDOOR PEGASUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
