KABAYAN was slow to begin. SOLAR GREAT, which was leaning on the inside of its stall, began awkwardly and bumped CAPE CANAVERAL. A short distance later, SOLAR GREAT was bumped by SICHUAN VIGOUR which shifted in. From wide barriers, NEW DEERFIELD, WITHINMYHEART and FUN TAPESTRY were all taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 300 Metres, SMART MAN was steadied and shifted to the outside of MY FAVORITE. Throughout the race, SUPER JOCKEY and GOOD WORDS travelled wide and without cover. T Berry, the rider of 3rd placegetter, SMART MAN, pleaded guilty to a charge of having failed to ride his mount out all the way to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards [Rule 100(2)]. T Berry was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 16 January 2014 on which day he may resume race riding (10 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after next Saturday, 14 December 2013. SUPER JOCKEY and MY FAVORITE were sent for sampling.
