From wide barriers, BORNFREE and ARCHER’S BOW were taken across behind runners in the early stages. Making the first turn after the 900 Metres, P J HALL and SPECTACULAR AWARD bumped. MR AWARD, which was being shifted across behind P J HALL, was inconvenienced in consequence. After the 700 Metres, KING ON EARTH and MR AWARD raced tight as KING ON EARTH shifted out. At the 400 Metres, TELECOM CHIEF and SPECTACULAR AWARD bumped as TELECOM CHIEF attempted to shift to the outside of MAN AND MING. As a consequence, TELECOM CHIEF was then momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of MAN AND MING Throughout the race, SPECTACULAR AWARD and P J HALL travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that TREASURE MAN had sustained a cut to the right hind tendon.
