CALL ME ACHIEVER was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind). Before being allowed to race again, CALL ME ACHIEVER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. YEUNG SING began awkwardly. SEASONS STAR shifted out shortly after the start, resulting in GENUINE CHAMPION and UNBEATABLE GUTS being hampered. From a wide barrier, PLAIN BLUE BANNER was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 650 Metres, JADE PIPPO shifted away from the heels of YOU ARE THE ONE after commencing to race keenly and in doing so bumped NIGHTLIGN. A short distance later, JADE PIPPO was hampered when NIGHTLIGN (T H So) shifted back in slightly before then being directed out to relieve the tightening to JADE PIPPO. CHEERS VICTORIES, which was following JADE PIPPO, was hampered in consequence. In the circumstances, T H So was reprimanded and advised to ensure that runners to his inside have comfortable racing room after they establish their positions. In the middle stages, YOU ARE THE ONE got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle in the lead. After the 500 Metres, GOOD YIELD got its head on the side and lay out. Throughout the race, GOOD YIELD travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of GOOD YIELD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GOOD YIELD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GOOD YIELD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned, Z Purton stated that prior to entering the Home Straight UNBEATABLE GUTS, which was having its first race start, was field shy and therefore at the entrance to the Straight he immediately shifted his mount to the outside of runners as he felt that this would give it the best opportunity to close off the race. He said after shifting to the outside of GENUINE CHAMPION, he placed his mount under pressure, however, UNBEATABLE GUTS immediately commenced to hang in when racing between GENUINE CHAMPION and SEASONS STAR. He said because of this he was not able to properly test UNBEATABLE GUTS as the horse was placed outside the heels of GENUINE CHAMPION and continuing to hang in. He added after SEASONS STAR improved to the outside of UNBEATABLE GUTS near the 100 Metres, he was able to change the whip into his right hand and UNBEATABLE GUTS then commenced to race more tractably. A veterinary inspection of YEUNG SING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. WELL DONE and JADE PIPPO were sent for sampling.
