HAYMAKER began only fairly. HAPPY BEAUTY was crowded for room on jumping between KIM GLORY and GOLDEN GLORY, both of which shifted ground. WORLD CITY began awkwardly and, from a wide barrier, was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. NEVER BETTER was steadied in the early stages from a wide barrier and shifted across behind runners. VICTOR EMPEROR made the turn near the 1000 Metres awkwardly when racing inside the heels of FINE ROCK. Near the 400 Metres, WORLD CITY raced tight between HAYMAKER and MIDNITE PROMISE. Rounding the Home Turn, HAYMAKER was awkwardly placed inside the heels of HAPPY BEAUTY. Passing the 400 Metres, GOLDEN GLORY, which was inclined to lay out throughout the race, momentarily raced in restricted room between KIM GLORY and AMAZING FEELING which shifted out to obtain clear running. Passing the 300 Metres, WORLD CITY was shifted to the outside of HAPPY BEAUTY to obtain clear running. Near the 150 Metres, HAPPY BEAUTY was shifted in away from the heels of GAINFULJET which was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of VICTOR EMPEROR which shifted out under pressure. Throughout the race, KIM GLORY and GOLDEN GLORY travelled wide and without cover. FINE ROCK and FLYING MONKEY were sent for sampling.
