SINCERE BOY was crowded for room on jumping between NORDIC WELLSTAR and ETERNAL BEAUTY which shifted out. In this incident, NORDIC WELLSTAR was also bumped by LARSON which, after bumping MOMENTUM GALAXY on jumping, then raced in restricted room between NORDIC WELLSTAR and MOMENTUM GALAXY. After this, despite being ridden along, LARSON was slow to muster speed. From wide barriers, MEGA HEART and LOVING A BOOM were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 750 Metres, LOVING A BOOM raced tight outside LARSON which shifted out when awkwardly placed outside the heels of MOMENTUM GALAXY. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, WINNING BREW got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of MOMENTUM GALAXY, resulting in ENTERAL BEAUTY being crowded for room inside LOVING A BOOM and losing ground. For the majority of the race, HAPPY GOOD GUYS travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of NORDIC WELLSTAR, A Badel stated that at its last start when ridden quietly due to having drawn the outside barrier, NORDIC WELLSTAR finished off the race well. He said tonight from a more favourable barrier NORDIC WELLSTAR began well and obtained a forward position without being ridden along at any stage. He said NORDIC WELLSTAR travelled too keenly along the Back Straight and therefore he was content to allow SKY SHOW to cross NORDIC WELLSTAR after the 700 Metres in the hope that it would settle better when provided with cover. He said however that NORDIC WELLSTAR continued to travel too keenly and because of this did not finish off the race after coming under pressure rounding the Home Turn. He added he did suggest to connections that they consider experimenting with the gear carried by NORDIC WELLSTAR in an attempt to have the horse settle better and relax in its races which it was not able to do tonight. A veterinary inspection of NORDIC WELLSTAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of LARSON, SINCERE BOY and MR LUMIERES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SKY SHOW, HARMONY AND RICH and LOVING A BOOM were sent for sampling.
