SIXTH GENERATION shifted in at the start and bumped the hindquarters of MEGA BONUS which became unbalanced. PAINTER began very awkwardly, shifted out and made heavy contact with the hindquarters of KING OF THE COURT, resulting in KING OF THE COURT becoming badly unbalanced and stumbling and PAINTER also becoming badly unbalanced and losing ground. From a wide barrier, HANDSOME TWELVE got its head up on jumping when being steadied to obtain cover. After travelling a short distance, MY INTELLIGENT shifted out and brushed BLISSFUL LIFE. Approaching the 900 Metres, ORIENTAL SMOKE was crowded for room between BLISSFUL LIFE and CASA LEGEND (V Borges) which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the crowding to ORIENTAL SMOKE. V Borges was reprimanded. After this, CASA LEGEND travelled wide and without cover. Throughout the race, SMILING CITY also travelled wide and without cover. Approaching the 500 Metres, LADY FIRST was steadied away from the heels of BLISSFUL LIFE. LADY FIRST was then held up for clear running behind BLISSFUL LIFE rounding the Home Turn. Passing the 400 Metres, MEGA BONUS was bumped on two occasions by MY INTELLIGENT which attempted to shift to the outside of MY ECSTATIC to obtain clear running. After the race, M Chadwick stated that MEGA BOUS came off the bridle as far out as the 800 Metres today. He said MEGA BONUS did not travel well after this and despite being placed under heavy pressure in the early part of the Straight did not finish the race off and was disappointing. A veterinary inspection of MEGA BONUS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ORIENTAL SMOKE, MY ECSTATIC and MY INTELLIGENT were sent for sampling.
