SUPER RED DRAGON bumped the outside of its gate on jumping and then was inconvenienced by GO FOR TEA which shifted in.
RAINBOW LIGHT and WIN WIN FIGHTER bumped on jumping.
VUKAN shifted out at the start and bumped FEARLESS FIRE.
From wide barriers, NEARLY FINE and NICHOLSON RETURNS were steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After initially being ridden along from a wide barrier, FEARLESS FIRE was steadied passing the 1600 Metres to obtain cover.
After the 1400 Metres, WIN WIN FIGHTER was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 700 Metres, ICE LEGEND got its head on the side and lay in.
On straightening, FEARLESS FIRE was shifted out across the heels of RAINBOW LIGHT to obtain clear running.
Passing the 300 Metres, V CHEVALIERS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of VUKAN which got its head on the side and lay in. Then approaching and passing the 100 Metres, V CHEVALIERS was held up for clear running after being disappointed between VUKAN and EVER LAUGH which was giving ground.
In the Straight, ICE LEGEND lay in under pressure and proved difficult to ride and passing the 100 Metres shifted in, resulting in VUKAN being hampered and taken in onto EVER LAUGH. This resulted in H Bentley, the rider of ICE LEGEND, having to stop riding and straighten ICE LEGEND. ICE LEGEND then continued to lay in over the concluding stages.
After the race, C Y Ho stated that SUPER RED DRAGON was not suited by the quick tempo in the early stages. He said he had to niggle at SUPER RED DRAGON to maintain its position in the early and middle stages and because of this, in his opinion, the horse was then not able to finish the race off. A veterinary inspection of SUPER RED DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
NEARLY FINE and FEARLESS FIRE were sent for sampling.
