Near the 550 Metres, HOLIDAY SUN became unbalanced when being checked away from the heels of OASIS DAVIS. PERFECT MATCH, which was following, was hampered in consequence. Also near the 550 Metres, SOMETHING SPECIAL was shifted out away from the heels of ROCKALOT. The Stewards considered a protest/objection lodged by O Doleuze, the rider of the 4th placegetter, HOLIDAY SUN, against FIRST BABY, ridden by B Prebble, being placed 2nd, alleging interference passing the 300 Metres. After taking the evidence from all parties concerned and after viewing the video of the race, the Stewards found that passing the 300 Metres HOLIDAY SUN was checked when disappointed for running between WONG’S FAVOURITE and FIRST BABY which shifted in slightly. As the Stewards were of the belief that HOLIDAY SUN had not established running between WONG’S FAVOURITE and FIRST BABY, the protest/objection was overruled and the Judge’s placings confirmed. Near the 250 Metres, WAIT FOR ME was shifted to the inside of CARE FREE MIDAS to obtain clear running. Over the concluding stages, HOLIDAY SUN was inconvenienced by FIRST BABY which hung in. AMAZING FORTUNE travelled wide and without cover throughout the race. JOLLY WONGCHOY and FIRST BABY were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that WONG’S FAVOURITE had lost its left hind plate.
