MAJESTIC HEART began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, GLORY OF INDIA was bumped by SUPER GENKI which in turn was taken out by CLOSERTOBELIEVING. Near the 1500 Metres, MAJESTIC HEART improved quickly to be racing inside of the heels of BOLERO which was shifting in. A short distance later, MAJESTIC HEART was taken in by BOLERO, resulting in WISE LOVER being checked when crowded for room to the outside of SUPER GENKI. As the Stewards were of the belief that no rider was responsible for the incident, no further action was taken. G Cheyne (UPSIDE OF ANGER) was reprimanded for failing to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount, which was hanging out, from shifting ground near the 350 Metres, resulting in STOLEN THUNDER being crowded for room. G Cheyne was told in similar circumstances he would be expected to make more effort than he did on this occasion to prevent his mount from shifting ground. O Doleuze (THE ONLY KID) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 200 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in across the rightful running of GLORY OF INDIA, resulting in that horse striking the heels of THE ONLY KID, blundering, being checked and losing its rightful running. O Doleuze was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday 8 October 2009 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Thursday 1 October 2009. In addition, O Doleuze was fined $40,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating one further raceday. The performance of ENERGIZED, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ENERGIZED will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of GLORY OF INDIA after the race did not show any significant findings. GLORY OF INDIA, CLASSIC REUNION and THE ONLY KID were sent for sampling.
