SABINA jumped in at the start, resulting in LUCKY MONEY STAR, which had begun awkwardly, being crowded onto WESTERN STAR. After being crowded at the start, LUCKY MONEY STAR did not muster speed despite being ridden along. SUPREME DRAGON jumped out at the start, making contact with FEEL THE FUN which in turn was tightened onto KIMBERLEY which became unbalanced. NAMJONG FIGHTERS and FEEL THE FUN travelled wide and without cover in the early and middle stages. From the entrance to the Straight until passing the 200 Metres, KIMBERLEY was help up and unable to obtain clear running. For some distance after the 200 Metres, KIMBERLEY was then reluctant to take a narrow run between STORM’S DESTINY and FEEL THE FUN. A Gryder (SABINA) dropped his left rein inside the 100 Metres. The performance of WADADELIGHT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, WADADELIGHT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned, Apprentice K C Leung stated that his instructions were to ride GALAXEE in 3rd or 4th position with cover if possible, however, if there was no early speed in the race he had the option to lead. He said after travelling 200 Metres when it was apparent to him that he would be caught wide, he allowed GALAXEE to stride to the lead and the horse travelled comfortably until approaching the Home Turn. He stated however when placed under pressure, GALAXEE gave nothing and was disappointing in the manner in which it weakened in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of WADADELIGHT and KIMBERLEY after the race did not show any significant findings. LUCKY MONEY STAR, SABINA and OSCAR PRINCE were sent for sampling.
