As the start was effected, EPEE DE HUA got its head up and lost ground. Despite being ridden along vigorously in the early stages, SPICY SHRIMP was slow to muster speed and near the 1000 Metres was steadied with a view to shifting in behind LEAD THE PROSPECTS to obtain cover. After briefly obtaining cover behind that horse, SPICY SHRIMP became awkwardly placed close to the heels of LEAD THE PROSPECTS near the 800 Metres and shifted out and thereafter travelled wide and without cover. Near the 700 Metres, SOLITAIRE shifted out after bumping with PRINCE OF LUCK and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LEAD THE PROSPECTS which itself shifted in slightly. Making the Home Turn, TATTENHALL DELIGHT, which for some distance had raced in restricted room between BEL CANTO and LEAD THE PROSPECTS, was checked due to BEL CANTO shifting out slightly. A veterinary inspection of BEL CANTO after the race did not show any significant findings. KING CREOLE, KING`S CHOICE and LEAD THE PROSPECTS were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that PRINCE OF LUCK had sustained a cut to the right front cannon. Before being allowed to race again, PRINCE OF LUCK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
