GUAN DAO was withdrawn on 15.6.10 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore left fore lateral suspensory branch) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FORTUNE (Y T Cheng). Before being allowed to race again, GUAN DAO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LUCKY ARMY was slow to begin. FORTUNE was slow to begin and then tailed out in the Straight. The performance of FORTUNE was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. RACING LEGEND began awkwardly and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of FRESH AIR which got its head on the side and shifted in. After this, RACING LEGEND was taken across behind runners. After the 1000 Metres, EASYGOING proved difficult to settle and got its head up when being steadied to obtain cover. FAIRY’S KISS hung out rounding the turn at the 800 Metres. Near the 700 Metres, SUPREME TAIJI was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of FLASHING GUY which at this time was steadied to allow FRESH AIR to cross. After this, SUPREME TAIJI was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WIN WIN CHARMS. Near the 300 Metres, SUPREME TAIJI was held up for clear running behind FRESH AIR. Near the 100 Metres, SUPREME TAIJI shifted out. Throughout the race, SURE FORWARD travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of POLYMER BLOOM after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE after the race including an endoscopic examination showed the horse to be a “roarer”. WIN WIN CHARMS and RACING LEGEND were sent for sampling.
