PLANET, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin. KING’S CHOICE began awkwardly and then despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed. Approaching the 800 Metres, KIMBER FORTUNE was momentarily crowded for room inside KING’S CHOICE which was taken in by LINKED WIN. After being crossed by SUPER PEPPER near the 650 Metres, WHITE DRAGON proved difficult to settle and for some distance was checked away from the heels of that horse. Approaching the 600 Metres, BLESS US ALL and TRANSCENDENCE bumped, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. Passing the 600 Metres, KIMBER FORTUNE raced in restricted room inside KING’S CHOICE. A short distance later, KIMBER FORTUNE bumped the hindquarters of KING’S CHOICE which became unbalanced and blundered. Also passing the 600 Metres, LINKED WIN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GLITTERING. Rounding the Home Turn, LINKED WIN and BLESS US ALL raced tight and made contact on a number of occasions. Shortly after entering the Straight, NEWSWIRE TOO was steadied away from the heels of BLESS US ALL which shifted out after being bumped by LINKED WIN (Apprentice M L Yeung) which at this time shifted to the outside of TRANSCENDENCE to obtain clear running. Apprentice Yeung was advised to exercise care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. PLANET, which was following BLESS US ALL, was hampered in consequence. Approaching the 100 Metres, WHITE DRAGON was steadied when disappointed for running inside INFALLIBLE CHOICE. After this, WHITE DRAGON was not able to obtain clear running and consequently was not properly tested. Over the concluding stages, KING’S CHOICE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of TRANSCENDENCE. Throughout the race, TRANSCENDENCE travelled wide and without cover. WHITE DRAGON, LINKED WIN and INFALLIBLE CHOICE were sent for sampling.
