MY MEMORY, which was fractious in the barriers, shifted in at the start, resulting in MR AWARD being crowded for room. LIFE OF BEAUTY was slow to begin, then shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of FLORA DANICA. LIFE OF BEAUTY then finished tailed out. A veterinary inspection of LIFE OF BEAUTY after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse’s trachea. The performance of LIFE OF BEAUTY was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, LIFE OF BEAUTY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Shortly after the start, ISLAND SUPER was steadied away from the heels of SUPER PLUS which shifted out. Passing the 1000 Metres, MY MEMORY got its head up when racing close to the heels of ELITE SIXTY-SIX. For some distance after the 800 Metres, MASTER KEY proved very difficult to settle and was checked away from the heels of MY MEMORY which itself was steadied away from the heels of ELITE SIXTY-SIX. Then passing the 700 Metres, MASTER KEY shifted out when continuing to over-race, resulting in ISLAND SUPER being bumped and taken wider. In the middle stages, FLORA DANICA proved difficult to settle. For the majority of the race, SUPREME FAY FAY travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of MY MEMORY after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ISLAND SUPER had lost its left front plate. MY MEMORY, ELITE SIXTY-SIX and IMPECCABLE were sent for sampling.
