For some distance approaching and passing the 1400 Metres, SIGHT WINNER proved very difficult to settle and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of SUPER PISTACHIO. After racing fiercely, SIGHT WINNER was shifted out from behind SUPER PISTACHIO after the 1200 Metres and allowed to stride forward to race outside the leader, HANDSOME ZULU. After the 1400 Metres, JAMESINA was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MIGHTY HIGH. Close to the finishing line, JAMESINA shifted out and bumped BLUE SKY. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SUPER SATIN, D Whyte stated that he was not able to provide any explanation for the horse’s performance as it travelled very well in the run. He said he placed the horse under pressure shortly after entering into the Straight, it responded to his riding for a brief period, however, after the 300 Metres came under pressure and was most disappointing in its failure to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of SUPER SATIN after the race did not show any significant findings. JACOBEE, MIGHTY HIGH and SIGHT WINNER were sent for sampling.
