9 SUPER MARSHAL M L Yeung K L Man 11 118 85 --

Steward Report Predict Pace Map
SUPER MARSHAL was withdrawn on 17.5.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore right front tendon) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter JUST FANTASTIC. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER MARSHAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being loaded, SILVER GRECIAN became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, SILVER GRECIAN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. GROOVY was slow to begin and shortly after the start was bumped by VOILE ROUGE which was taken in by CIRCUIT STAR. WAH MAY STAR blundered at the start. From a wide barrier, ELEGANCE DESIRE was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 1200 Metres, KEEN WONGCHOY got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle. Approaching the 1000 Metres, GROOVY proved difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CIRCUIT STAR. Shortly after entering the Straight, M Chadwick (OPEN SESAME) dropped his right rein for a short distance. Approaching the 200 Metres, JUST FANTASTIC shifted out under pressure, resulting in TIME AFTER TIME and OPEN SESAME being inconvenienced. Near the 50 Metres, JUST FANTASTIC was shifted back in, resulting in GROOVY being hampered. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SILVER GRECIAN, B Prebble stated that carrying top weight today, the horse was not able to quicken when the tempo increased rounding the Home Turn. He said in the Straight SILVER GRECIAN finished off the race fairly. A veterinary inspection of SILVER GRECIAN after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of VOILE ROUGE after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea and a cut to the outside of the left hind cannon. Before being allowed to race again, VOILE ROUGE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on CIRCUIT STAR at the request of Trainer A S Cruz. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. PRESIDENT LINCOLN and WAH MAY STAR were sent for sampling. <21/5/2012 Additional Veterinary Report> VOILE ROUGE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. VOILE ROUGE was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon at the stables of Trainer J Size yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a fractured splint bone in the left hind leg. As previously advised, VOILE ROUGE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
