RAINBOW CHIC was slow to begin. From wide barriers, PRESIDENT LINCOLN and NAVEL ORANGE were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. DRAGON FIGHTER (T Clark) proved very difficult to settle in the early stages. After the race, T Clark reported that, in his opinion, DRAGON FIGHTER did not feel comfortable in its action and in the Straight got its head on the side and hung out. He said for this reason he eased the horse down over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of DRAGON FIGHTER after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, DRAGON FIGHTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Passing the 1100 Metres, WAH MAY STAR was shifted out away from the heels of WINNING LEADER which momentarily raced in restricted room inside IT HAS TO BE YOU. Approaching the 1000 Metres, TRUMP proved very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed close to the heels of OUTDOOR PEGASUS. For a considerable distance after the 900 Metres, VAUGIRARD got its head up when proving difficult to settle and awkwardly placed close to the heels of DRAGON FIGHTER. Making the turn near the 850 Metres, BEAUTY LEAD was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY FOREVER (T H So) which shifted in when not properly clear. T H So was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. Near the 700 Metres, RAINBOW CHIC was steadied away from the heels of WRATH OF FIRE which shifted away from the heels of WAH MAY STAR. WRATH OF FIRE had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Near the 200 Metres, WINNING LEADER was momentarily crowded for room between RAINBOW CHIC and BEAUTY LEAD, both of which shifted ground. After the 200 Metres, VAUGIRARD was awkwardly placed outside the heels of DRAGON FIGHTER which shifted out. Also after the 200 Metres, LUCKY FOREVER shifted out and bumped VICTORY MASTER. Throughout the race, VICTORY MASTER travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the performance of IT HAS TO BE YOU, D Whyte stated that he had to make some use of the horse in the early stages to cross runners to his inside from barrier 12. He said although he was able to run slow sections after obtaining the lead passing the 1100 Metre, he was required to make some use of IT HAS TO BE YOU to obtain that position. He said in the early part of the Straight IT HAS TO BE YOU responded strongly to his riding, however, over the final 150 Metres the horse, which was second up today, weakened slightly on its run. A veterinary inspection of IT HAS TO BE YOU after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection WINNING LEADER after the race did not show any significant findings. IT HAS TO BE YOU, VICTORY MASTER and LUCKY FOREVER were sent for sampling.
