NOBLE FLIER was checked at the start when crowded for room between SUPREME TYCOON which got its head on the side and shifted out and KING GALILEO which shifted in after being bumped by STARLIT WARRIOR which began awkwardly. From the outside barrier, FULL VALUE was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Making the first turn passing the 2100 Metres, NOBLE FLIER was bumped when crowded for room by KING GALILEO which got its head on the side and shifted in slightly. CHANTILLY, which was following, was hampered in consequence. At the entrance to the Straight, FERRABOSCO shifted out and bumped MEDIC CHAMPION. A short distance later, MEDIC CHAMPION got its head on the side, shifted in and made further contact with FERRABOSCO. After the 300 Metres, MEDIC CHAMPION shifted out and bumped SUNNY SKY. Inside the 100 Metres, SUNNY SKY shifted out and bumped MOUNT VICTORY. Throughout the race, FULL STAR travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SUPREME TYCOON, T Clark stated that after having to ride his mount along to obtain a position behind the leaders in the early stages as instructed, SUPREME TYCOON then refused to settle properly for the majority of the race. He said because of this, after coming under pressure rounding the Home Turn, SUPREME TYCOON was not able to finish off its race. A veterinary inspection of SUPREME TYCOON after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of NOBLE FLIER after the race did not show any significant findings. MOUNT VICTORY and SUNNY SKY were sent for sampling.
