As the start was effected, HIGHEST ACCLAIM, which was leaning on the outside of its barrier, lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin. PRONOUNCED HONOUR was crowded for room at the start between BULLISH BOY and FOLLOW THE MONEY, both of which shifted ground. YOU ARE THE ONE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped HEARTLAND which became unbalanced. REWARDING HERO and DAY DAY HAPPY bumped at the start. From wide barriers, BERLINSKI and TELECOM PRINCE were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 900 Metres, HEARTLAND commenced to race ungenerously, got its head up on a number of occasions and shifted in, hampering FOLLOW THE MONEY. After the 800 Metres, SIGHT LOVER was left racing wide and without cover. Also after the 800 Metres, T-BOLT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BULLISH BOY. After the 700 Metres, BULLISH BOY got its head on the side and commenced to hang out and near the 650 Metres shifted out a considerable number of horses abruptly. BULLISH BOY then hung in badly in the Straight. The racing manners of BULLISH BOY were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BULLISH BOY will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. Passing the 600 Metres, BERLINSKI was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HIGHEST ACCLAIM. Making the Home Turn, PRONOUNCED HONOUR, SIGHT LOVER and T-BOLT all hung out. Shortly after entering the Straight, HIGHEST ACCLAIM was shifted in away from the heels of ULTIMATE POWER. At the 400 Metres, W C Marwing (BERLINSKI) dropped his whip. Passing the 300 Metres, HEARTLAND was shifted in away from the heels of T-BOLT. Near the 100 Metres, YOU ARE THE ONE was steadied away from the heels of BULLISH BOY which shifted in. In the Straight, REWARDING HERO, T-BOLT and SIGHT LOVER all raced greenly and shifted out under pressure. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ULTIMATE POWER had lost its right front plate. Also after the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on PRONOUNCED HONOUR at the request of Trainer P O’Sullivan. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, PRONOUNCED HONOUR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of HIGHEST ACCLAIM and BULLISH BOY after the race did not show any significant findings. REWARDING HERO and HEARTLAND were sent for sampling.
