After being loaded, TRANSFORMER became fractious, reared and got its right front leg over the front gates. TRANSFORMER was removed from the stalls and examined by the Veterinary Officer who advised the horse was lame in its right front leg with abrasions over the tendon area and accordingly was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of TRANSFORMER. Before being allowed to race again, TRANSFORMER will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Also after being loaded, GENTILIS became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, GENTILIS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. PLAIN BLUE BANNER was slow to begin. GENTILIS shifted out at the start and bumped COPY STAR. TRILLION TREASURE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped HEAMERIC TE SPECSO. For some distance in the early stages, GORGEOUS DEBUT got its head up and proved very difficult to settle. Approaching the 600 Metres, MY CUP OVERFLOWS was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SUPER ABUNDANTE which shifted out. COPY STAR was held up for clear running for some distance after the 500 Metres and passing the 200 Metres was awkwardly placed inside the heels of GENTILIS (Z Purton) which shifted in. After this, GENTILIS got its head on the side and lay out under pressure. After the race, Z Purton stated his mount was making an abnormal breathing noise which gave him the impression that it may have choked down. A veterinary inspection of GENTILIS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Approaching the 100 Metres, SUPER ABUNDANTE shifted out and raced tight inside HEAMERIC TE SPECSO. Over the final 100 Metres, TRILLION TREASURE got its head on the side and lay out under pressure. Throughout the race, SPARKLING SWORD raced greenly and near the 200 Metres was shifted out away from the heels of MY CUP OVERFLOWS. A veterinary inspection of GORGEOUS DEBUT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GENTILIS, HEAMERIC TE SPECSO, SOLAR SPIRIT and PLAIN BLUE BANNER were sent for sampling.
