PEARL CHAMPION was withdrawn on 7.6.18 by order of the Stewards (stable transfer) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter CAPTAIN BOSS. BEAUTY DAY was withdrawn on 9.6.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY DAY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GLITTERING ARMOUR was slow to begin. BIG BULLY began awkwardly. YOUNG EMPIRE shifted out at the start and bumped SAM’S LOVE which in turn shifted out and bumped FRESH POWER. After this, SAM’S LOVE, FRESH POWER and also GOLDEN FOUR were shifted across behind runners from outside barriers. Approaching the 900 Metres, STARSHIP commenced to prove difficult to settle and was checked away from the heels of TOP ACE. GOLDEN FOUR, which was following, was inconvenienced. In this incident, STARSHIP shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of GLITTERING ARMOUR. GLITTERING ARMOUR then made the first turn near the 900 Metres awkwardly. At the 500 Metres, STARSHIP and FRESH POWER bumped as STARSHIP shifted out into clear running. Passing the 200 Metres, FRESH POWER was shifted out away from the heels of STARSHIP which shifted out marginally. Passing the 150 Metres, TOP ACE was shifted out away from the heels of YOUNG EMPIRE to continue improving. For the majority of the race, BIG BULLY travelled wide and without cover. After the race, A Sanna expressed concern regarding the action of BOSSIEE. The Veterinary Officer reported that the horse was lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, BOSSIEE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of FRESH POWER immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, FRESH POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of GLITTERING ARMOUR immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. STARSHIP and SAM’S LOVE were sent for sampling.
