Whilst in the saddling stalls, WARM THE VOICE had its left front plate refitted. WARM THE VOICE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. On jumping, GO BEAUTY GO stumbled, resulting in T Angland being dislodged. BANK ON RED and WARM THE VOICE bumped at the start. After this, WARM THE VOICE was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When being steadied to obtain cover, GO GO FIRST was steadied away from the heels of AMAZING SATCHMO shortly after the start. Passing the 1200 Metres, SUPER GIANT was shifted out when the riderless GO BEAUTY GO improved to its inside, resulting in SUPER GIANT being awkwardly placed inside the heels of DIAMOND KING. Passing the 1100 Metres, CHEERFUL BOY was shifted out abruptly when the riderless GO BEAUTY GO improved to its inside. This resulted in ARCADA being crowded for room inside the heels of PAKISTAN FRIEND and CHEERFUL BOY becoming unbalanced. Near the 550 Metres, SUPER GIANT commenced to travel keenly and was steadied away from the heels of CHEERFUL BOY. RAZOR QUEST, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence. In this incident, DIAMOND KING, which was racing outside SUPER GIANT, raced tight between that horse and AMAZING SATCHMO. SUPER GIANT was badly held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight behind the tiring CHEERFUL BOY. The performance of GO GO FIRST, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GO GO FIRST will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, M Chadwick stated that, in his opinion, STARSHIP did not handle the track conditions as the horse did not close off as it did at its most recent start. A veterinary inspection of STARSHIP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. A veterinary inspection of GO BEAUTY GO immediately following the race, including an endoscopic examination, showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea and the horse to have sustained overreach wounds to the right and left front heels, abrasions to both front pasterns and a small wound to the inside of the left hock. Before being allowed to race again, GO BEAUTY GO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of CHEERFUL BOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. AMAZING SATCHMO and PAKISTAN FRIEND were sent for sampling.
