VICTORY MASTERY shifted out at the start and bumped ROMAN IMPERO heavily, resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced and shifting out onto KA YING BRILLIANCE which was inconvenienced after beginning awkwardly. LASTING FRIENDSHIP shifted out at the start and brushed DRAGON COMMANDER. GOLDIE FLANKER and ALL YOU KNOW bumped at the start. After this, GOLDIE FLANKER and ALL YOU KNOW were steadied and shifted across behind runners from wide barriers as were GOOD FIT and FOODIE PRINCESS. After travelling a short distance, BEST ALLIANCE raced tight between KA YING BRILLIANCE and MEGATRON which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the tightening to BEST ALLIANCE. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, DREAM WARRIORS was left racing wide and without cover and was consequently allowed to improve its position after the 1000 Metres to race outside the lead. When being steadied after the 1500 Metres in an attempt to obtain cover, KA YING BRILLIANCE got its head up and travelled keenly. KA YING BRILLIANCE was then left racing wide and without cover after the 1400 Metres. Passing the 1200 Metres, FOODIE PRINCESS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DRAGON COMMANDER. Near the 950 Metres, BEST ALLIANCE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DRAGON COMMANDER when travelling keenly. ALL YOU KNOW, which was following BEST ALLIANCE, raced close to the heels of that horse in consequence. VICTORY MASTERY lay in and brushed the running rail near the 700 Metres of its own accord. VICTORY MASTERY continued to lay in and in the Straight gave ground and finished tailed out. A veterinary inspection of VICTORY MASTERY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of VICTORY MASTERY was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, VICTORY MASTERY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned regarding his riding of ALL YOU KNOW in the Home Straight, A Badel stated that although he was able to test ALL YOU KNOW at its previous start, he had some reservations regarding the action of the horse as ALL YOU KNOW did not let down as he anticipated it would after obtaining a good run in the race. He said in today’s race he shifted ALL YOU KNOW across behind runners from the wide barrier and was able to follow BEST ALLIANCE and race outside the eventual winner THIS ONE’S FOR YOU. He said when travelling on the bridle ALL YOU KNOW raced comfortably, however, after being asked for an effort after the 600 Metres to maintain its position behind BEST ALLIANCE, ALL YOU KNOW immediately came off the bridle and both BEST ALLIANCE and THIS ONE’S FOR YOU were able to draw an immediate margin on ALL YOU KNOW. He added rounding the Home Turn when under pressure ALL YOU KNOW’s action deteriorated significantly and the horse, in his opinion, felt stiff in front. He said as he was very concerned with the action of ALL YOU KNOW, a horse which is well-known to him, he did not test it in the Straight and held the horse together in case it was experiencing any issues. A veterinary inspection of ALL YOU KNOW immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. In the circumstances, the Stewards ruled that ALL YOU KNOW will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again. A veterinary inspection of BEST ALLIANCE, ROMAN IMPERO and LASTING FRIENDSHIP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of GOLDIE FLANKER immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left hind leg, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDIE FLANKER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BEST ALLIANCE, THIS ONE’S FOR YOU and DRAGON COMMANDER were sent for sampling. <13/1/2020 Additional Veterinary Report>BEST ALLIANCE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. BEST ALLIANCE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D J Whyte yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left hind leg and to be severely restricted in its action in all four legs. Before being allowed to race again, BEST ALLIANCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
