Steward Report Predict Pace Map
On arrival at the saddling stalls, the left front plate of STAR SHINE was refitted. After being mounted in the Parade Ring, STAR PERFORMANCE became fractious, threw its head back and reared, resulting in its rider, M Chadwick, sustaining a minor facial injury. After being examined by the Chief Medical Officer in the Parade Ring, permission was given for M Chadwick to remount STAR PERFORMANCE and to proceed to the Start. On arrival at the Start, M Chadwick was again examined by the Chief Medical Officer who said that he was fit to fulfil his race riding engagement. After entering the track, V Borges was dislodged from KING OPIE which then proceeded for some distance riderless. As V Borges was not able to fulfil his riding engagement, KING OPIE was withdrawn from the race by order of the Stewards. On arrival at the Start, K Teetan expressed concern regarding the action of MONGOLIAN KING. MONGOLIAN KING was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion the horse was lame in its left front leg and accordingly was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, MONGOLIAN KING was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, MONGOLIAN KING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. INVINCIBLE MISSILE began very awkwardly and threw its head back, causing the horse to become unbalanced. BEAR SLAM began awkwardly. AMAZING ONE PLUS was slow to begin. A Hamelin (BALLISTIC KING) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that at the 1350 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of STAR PERFORMANCE, causing that horse to be checked and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. A Hamelin was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 28 October 2020 and to expire on Monday, 2 November 2020 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). KYRUS UNICORN was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After being steadied in the early stages from a wide barrier, NOT USUAL TALENT was left racing wide and without cover after the 1000 Metres. Approaching the 1100 Metres, INVINCIBLE MISSILE was bumped on the hindquarters by STAR PERFORMANCE which was racing tight inside GENERAL’S DELIGHT. Approaching the 50 Metres, STAR PERFORMANCE raced tight outside INVINCIBLE MISSILE and consequently was not able to be fully ridden out over the concluding stages. When questioned, Mr A T Millard, the trainer of AMAZING CHOCOLATE, said that since taking over the horse, it had been his intention to have it ridden in as forward a position as possible. He said from the wide barrier and with MIGHTY GIANT, a horse he anticipated would also obtain a forward position, being drawn outside AMAZING CHOCOLATE, he felt that there was an opportunity for the horse to also be ridden in a prominent position as he did not want AMAZING CHOCOLATE getting too far out of its ground. He said the horse was carrying a very light weight in today’s race and he felt that the circumstances of the race together with the wide barrier presented AMAZING CHOCOLATE with the opportunity to be ridden in a forward position and give it the best opportunity to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of AMAZING CHOCOLATE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING CHOCOLATE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MIGHTY GIANT and NOT USUAL TALENT were sent for sampling.
