MALDIVES, PLAY WISE (R Moore) and RIGHT HONOURABLE all lost ground when crowded for room at the start between UNIVERSAL GO GO which was taken out by GALLANT CROWN which was in turn taken out by THUNDER STOMP (M Barzalona) which shifted out when being ridden along and REGENCY MASTER which was taken in by LADY FIRST (N Callan) which, after initially being taken in by ANONYMA, then shifted in away from that horse when being ridden along. Both M Barzalona and N Callan were advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. R Moore stated that after being crowded for room at the start, PLAY WISE did not travel comfortably at any stage of the race and failed to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of PLAY WISE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. From the outside barrier, ROYAL RACER was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, RIGHT HONOURABLE lay in away from ROYAL RACER, resulting in PLAY WISE being crowded for room. ANONYMA travelled wide and without cover until near the 800 Metres. At the entrance to the Straight, GALLANT CROWN raced tight outside ANONYMA which improved to the outside of LADY FIRST. Passing the 300 Metres, REGENCY MASTER was shifted out away from the heels of ANONYMA and GALLANT CROWN to obtain clear running. MALDIVES momentarily had some difficulty obtaining a clear run passing the 200 Metres and then near the 50 Metres was shifted to the inside of THUNDER STOMP to obtain clear running. Passing the winning post, FEARLESS FIRE raced tight inside GALLANT CROWN. A veterinary inspection of LADY FIRST immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, LADY FIRST will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of THUNDER STOMP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. REGENCY MASTER, GALLANT CROWN and FEARLESS FIRE were sent for sampling.
