After being placed in the barriers, TATTENHAM reared and got its right front leg over the starting gates. Acting on veterinary advice that TATTENHAM was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, TATTENHAM will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SETANTA jumped only fairly, shifted out and bumped TAMRA BLITZ. SETANTA was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. From a wide barrier, HAPPY DAILY was also shifted across behind runners shortly after the start and then raced keenly in the early stages. Passing the 1300 Metres, TAMRA BLITZ was shifted in and improved to the inside of ERIMO (L Currie). TAMRA BLITZ then raced tight to the inside of ERIMO for some distance thereafter and near the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded by ERIMO. L Currie was reprimanded. TAMRA BLITZ then raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 800 Metres was steadied away from ERIMO. MASTER HERO raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event and lay out in the middle stages. Passing the 300 Metres, M Chadwick (MASTER TORNADO) dropped his right rein before quickly regathering it. Close to the finishing line, MAJESTIC COLOUR, which was inclined to lay out, was steadied away from HYPER DRAGON BALL which shifted in slightly. After the race, M F Poon (COPARTNER AMBITION) reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to endeavour to obtain a midfield position with cover. He said on jumping COPARTNER AMBITION made contact with MASTER HERO and as a result he elected to shift COPARTNER AMBITION across behind runners in the early stages to find cover. HYPER DRAGON BALL and MAJESTIC COLOUR were sent for sampling.
