SPECIAL DAYS was slow to begin. On jumping, WONDERFUL BLESSING and COP HILL LAD bumped. In the early stages, from a wide gate, MONTY was taken across behind runners. Near the 1200 Metres, CLASSIC KING was steadied away from the heels of NOT QUITE PERFECT which had its head on the side and shifted in when just clear. Throughout the race, WONDERFUL BLESSING travelled wide and without cover and after the 400 Metres Apprentice K L Chui, its rider, dropped his whip and then dropped his right rein as he endeavoured to regain the whip. This rein was regained shortly afterwards. In the Straight, CLASSIC KING hung in and after the 300 Metres was steadied away from the heels of WONDERFUL BLESSING. For the major part of the Straight, NOT QUITE PERFECT hung in. Throughout the race, MINGS’ HERO hung out. MINGS’ HERO was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of MINGS’ HERO after the race did not show any significant findings. KING ACRYLIC and SPECIAL DAYS were sent for sampling.
