Steward Report Predict Pace Map
SIMPLY THE BEST bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. Shortly after the start, REWARDING STAR was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between FANTASTIC WIN and NEW COMMAND which was carried out by KINGSTON GLORY. From the outside barrier, KAISER'S CHOIX was taken across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, FANTASTIC WIN was momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed between RIGHT CHOICE and REWARDING STAR which got its head on the side and shifted out. Consideration was given to a protest/objection lodged by Y T Cheng (FANTASTIC WIN), 4th placegetter, against KAISER'S CHOIX (D Whyte) being declared 2nd placegetter for alleged interference near the 600 Metres. It was established that near the 600 Metres FANTASTIC WIN was carried wider by KAISER'S CHOIX which shifted out after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of PILLOW KING which in turn was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KINGSTON GLORY which lost ground when crowded for room inside WINNING PATTERN which momentarily got its head on the side and shifted in. In the opinion of the Stewards, had the inconvenience to FANTASTIC WIN not have occurred, that horse would not have finished in front of KAISER'S CHOIX, therefore the protest/objection was overruled. Subsequently Y T Cheng was advised his protest/objection bordered on being frivolous. In this incident, HURRICANE WAY, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of KAISER'S CHOIX. Near the 300 Metres, HURRICANE WAY was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running inside KINGSTON GLORY. For a considerable distance after this, HURRICANE WAY continued to have difficulty obtaining clear running. Over about the final 200 Metres, KINGSTON GLORY was not ridden out when awkwardly placed behind TABBRIS and NEW COMMAND which was giving ground. NEW COMMAND was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of NEW COMMAND after the race did not show any significant findings. REWARDING STAR and KAISER'S CHOIX were sent for sampling.
