GALLANT MASTER was slow to begin. CARE FREE MIDAS began awkwardly, then shortly after the start blundered and lost further ground after clipping heels when crowded for room between QUALITY-QUALITY which began awkwardly and then shifted in away from CLASSA SUPREME after initially being carried in slightly by that horse and CLOVIS which shifted out after being bumped by JOLLY WONGCHOY which on jumping shifted ground. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, EVER KING was carried wider by TRIUMPH which shifted out from behind BOBO WIN. After this, EVER KING was steadied and taken to a position behind TRIUMPH which caused CLOVIS to be hampered and lose ground. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, GALLANT MASTER was steadied away from the heels of CLOVIS which got its head on the side and hung in away from EVER KING. At the 400 Metres, GALLANT MASTER was momentarily steadied when crowded for room inside CARE FREE MIDAS which got its head on the side and shifted in. At the 50 Metres, D Whyte (CLOVIS) had the whip knocked from his hand by the whip of W C Marwing (KAISER'S CHOIX). In the run to the line, TRIUMPH was awkwardly placed outside SUPER FANTASY and inside the heels of KAISER'S CHOIX. Because of this, TRIUMPH was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. CARE FREE MIDAS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CARE FREE MIDAS after the race did not show any significant findings. CLOVIS, EVER KING and KAISER'S CHOIX were sent for sampling.
