Three weeks ago, the horse ran decently over a Sha Tin 1400m race, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear with a steady pace. It finished fourth after a strong run by Leader’s Steed, beaten by one and a half lengths. In another trial over 1600m at Sha Tin, carrying a three-pound weight reduction, the horse was again held up but lacked the finishing kick of its rivals, facing unfavorable conditions. Despite having five wins in fourteen attempts over this distance, its overall time wasn’t significantly different from competitors. Drawing an inside barrier and with reasonable trust between trainer and jockey, opportunities appear limited.
