A subsequent barrier trial showed he struggled to keep pace with the leaders. His last run was at Happy Valley over a mile; this time carrying a four-pound weight reduction but facing unfavorable circumstances due to a perceived lack of synergy between horse and trainer. Despite having some form over this distance, the competition is closely matched. Drawing a good barrier suggests a hold-up strategy utilizing his strong finishing kick.
