Three weeks ago, this horse recorded (dirt trial 1200m: 9-9-9), moving out gradually in the final three sections and showing an unremarkable performance. Four weeks prior, he ran exceptionally well over a Sha Tin mile, jumping moderately and settling towards the back before accelerating strongly in the latter two sections. A subsequent barrier trial showed he struggled to keep pace with the leaders. His last run was at Happy Valley over a mile; this time carrying a four-pound weight reduction but facing unfavorable circumstances due to a perceived lack of synergy between horse and trainer. Despite having some form over this distance, the competition is closely matched. Drawing a good barrier suggests a hold-up strategy utilizing his strong finishing kick. Derek Leung has taken the ride, a jockey known for adapting to individual horses, offering a glimmer of opportunity.
