Following a dirt trial at Conghua on March 4th (1200m, sections recorded as 5-5-5) under pushing, the horse showed limited improvement. Five weeks ago, it ran a respectable race over a long distance at Happy Valley, jumping moderately and settling towards the back before finishing strongly for third, beaten by two and a half lengths – demonstrating good ability. A subsequent barrier trial yielded no significant observations. Another Happy Valley mile trial saw a one-pound reduction in weight, but with unfavorable timing and a poor draw, its finishing kick was lacking, presenting an unfavourable situation. Despite showing the capability to track the pace-setters, it may struggle to lead, though trainer-jockey rapport is decent, and no obvious plan is apparent.
