Four weeks ago, this horse ran poorly over 1200m on dirt, slow to jump and settling towards the rear with a steady pace but lacking a strong finish. He finished eighth, beaten three lengths. A recent barrier trial showed improvement. On April 14th, during a dirt trial of 1050m (sections recorded as 1-1-1), he showed good early speed and ran straight for the finish line. This time stepping into a Happy Valley 1200m race with an eight-pound weight reduction, facing comparable competition, he has the potential to lead. Drawing a favorable barrier, smooth jump is key; however, should he succeed in taking the lead, a forward position is well within reach.
