Three weeks ago, over the same distance, this horse ran respectably, jumping moderately and settling towards the rear before finishing strongly for fourth, beaten two lengths. A recent barrier trial showed it wasn't fully extended. This time with a six-pound weight reduction, having won five of 22 races at this distance, timing looks good, and drawing a favorable barrier. The tactics will be to settle back in the field and rely on a strong finishing kick. Antoine Hamelin takes the ride, showing some familiarity with the horse’s capabilities; pre-race preparation has been solid and the horse is showing improved form. Despite an unfavorable situation and trainer/jockey not being fully aligned, it should still be considered a contender.
