On May 13th, a turf trial over 800m at Conghua saw the horse positioned between third and fourth, held with steady rein. Six weeks ago in a similar distance trial, the performance was below expectations; a slow jump led to settling towards the rear, but showed a strong late run for fourth, beaten two and a half lengths. One barrier trial has been completed, but further work is needed. This race requires an additional one pound weight increase. The plan is to settle back in running position, however, the finishing kick isn't expected to be as strong as its rivals. Despite comparable times within the group, and securing a favorable barrier draw, trainer-jockey synergy is moderate; trackwork has been positive but this doesn’t guarantee success.
