On May 12th, a dirt trial over 1200m showed the horse lagging behind with little response (4-4-7), ridden around the turn. On April 29th, another dirt trial over 1200m saw him four wide into the turn, requiring urging from the 200m mark but with a flat performance (4-4-9). Seven weeks ago in its last run over the same distance, the horse was very disappointing; it jumped slowly and settled at the rear, maintaining a steady pace without showing any finishing kick. Two barrier trials have been undertaken but haven’t fully demonstrated sufficient fitness. This race sees no weight reduction for the horse, facing unfavorable opposition within its group and drawing an outside barrier, diminishing its chances.
