On May 9th, during a Happy Valley turf trial over 1200m (sections recorded as 6-6-5), the horse showed a relaxed effort with an easy finish. Six weeks ago, in a similar race over the same distance, performance was below expectations; it led but maintained a steady pace without a strong finishing kick, finishing fourth, beaten two and a half lengths. A subsequent barrier trial didn't reveal any improvement. The horse’s body weight has been reduced by 21 pounds and will carry a two-pound deduction this time. It has previous form over this distance with competitive times in its group, draws a favorable barrier, is expected to lead, possesses the strongest finishing kick amongst its competition, and enjoys advantageous conditions. This represents a strong contender in the race; Andrea Atzeni takes the ride, known for his ability to control pace, and a clean jump should allow it to contest for a forward position easily.
