On May 13th, a turf trial over 1000m at Conghua saw the horse settle in a forward position maintaining pace under urging. A recent winner, six weeks ago over the same distance, it delivered a solid performance, jumping slowly but settling towards the rear, running at an even tempo before finishing strongly to win by one and a half lengths. The subsequent trial was unremarkable. This time requiring a 5lb weight increase for its run, the plan is to settle back in the field; however, its finishing kick isn’t expected to match rivals. Despite four wins from eight starts over this distance, comparable times within the group are not exceptional. The barrier draw is favorable and the trainer-jockey combination appears confident, though opportunities look limited.
