Five weeks ago over this same distance, the performance was below expectations; a slow start saw it settle towards the rear and finish with a fast final two sections to take fourth, beaten only half a length. This time carrying one pound less weight, having previously won three times at this course and distance, and showing good sectionals in its work, the plan is again to settle back. A strong finishing kick is expected, with Karis Teetan taking the ride – he has some understanding of the horse’s capabilities. The trainer and jockey appear confident. Late gatework suggests it's ready but a poor draw makes things challenging.
