On May 13th, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua provided a solid test and maintained consistent pace. Five weeks ago, this horse ran disappointingly in a dirt mile race, taking the lead easily with a steady pace but lacking a finishing kick to finish fourth, beaten two and a half lengths. A subsequent barrier trial showed acceptable performance. Returning to Happy Valley over 1200m, the horse will carry an additional two pounds this time. He has previous records in this distance and good section times compared to rivals; drawing a favorable barrier allows for a potential front-running strategy which looks promising. Based on relative ability, he is considered the strongest contender in this race, with trainer and jockey showing mutual confidence. A clean jump and commitment to track the pace are key to his chances.
